Springtime inspires me. I enjoy seeing the earth wake up and push new growth to its surface. New flowering plants are popping up on the walk every day.
Maybe I’m excited at the prospect of Spring because I’ve missed the change in seasons after living in Panama for the last 13 years or so. It was hot there all year long, and the year consisted of two main seasons – dry and rainy. Delicate wildflowers would not find a suitable environment to thrive in Panamanian heat. While tropical flowers have their own mystical beauty, there is something about wildflowers in Spring that makes my heart smile.
Here are two new wildflowers to my Wildflower Collection from this year. The purple one is a type of Iris, and the yellow a Fritillaria.
