Art is the expression of a life lived. It holds the thoughts and actions of the artist. Whether the viewer sees it or not, art holds the artist’s hidden truths. Does she love herself? Did she abandon herself to the flow? Did she have to coax out the honesty one push at a time? Most importantly, did the piece even see the light of day, or does it still live in her desire to do something? Perhaps when other things have been taken care of…

I did. If I wasn’t suffering in my work, I thought I wasn’t working hard enough and was worthless. Turns out, that was a huge lie. You might not be telling yourself the same things, but there are other lies that are keeping you from fully enjoying something you love to do.
