We associate shapes, colors, sizes, placement of objects in images with our life experiences.
Red is associated with blood and fire.
Sharp edges are seen as threatening, like the edge of a knife or spear.
Large objects are seen as stronger and smaller ones weaker. In ancient art, gods and kings were depicted by size according to their importance.
Larger objects placed next to smaller ones can also be seen as threatening or protecting the weaker.
