When I think of my age, I feel elation,
as my liberty now is freedom of time.
I could pick up the guitar that I put down, still in the corner.
I could grind out the grammar and learn a new language.
I could pause and ponder and walk slowly.
I could run if I feel like, but why bother?
I can my deepen my conversations
and filter my friends.
I can cook from the garden
and drink from the barrel.
I can put words to my images
and write for the children
I can write to the world with a hand that is light
and you who are battered can take rest from the fight.
