Kim LeClair has been writing a poem a day. Some are sketches that touch the edges of the reader’s life experience and offer a hint of something just out of reach. Some seem to come from experienced joy or longing. Some are storied from a place of magic and wonder. Characters often inhibit Kim’s poems and pop in and out of them with a life of their very own.
I’ve been rolling around in the muck of doubt for the past few months, and Kim’s poems have offered a place of creative recuperation.
My image here pays homage to one of Kim’s characters, Peter the Bee who makes an appearance in a few poems. Giving a visual to Peter is helping me get back on my feet.
